これで一段落しそうですね。

 

 

ナノさんには伝えていましたが、GTX 1080の2枚目をゲットしたのです。最近よくいわれているグラフィックスカードの「国内販売価格の理不尽さ？」にちょっとばかり憂うところがあって。というよりは入手性が世界的にも厳しいことから、2台目を・・・アメリカのアマゾンさん・・・amazon.comにて注文しました。

同じくASUSさんのFounders Editionでしたが、たまたまみたら「2～4週間で発送」とありました。699.99ドルで受付中でしたので、9日に発注、13日に出荷案内、そしてなんと15日に到着という(@_@)　国内ではヤマト運輸さんでの配送でしたが、税関到着が14日ですので、正味1.5日でアメリカから飛んできたわけです。恐ろしや。国内は0.5日とでもいうべき、「超速宅急便」扱いで送られてくるのでした。これにはびっくり。国内のアマゾンさんよりも速いのです・・・（’’

一番早く配達してくれる「AmazonGlobal Priority Shipping」は送料が2倍になってしまうのが難点ですが、配達日数は圧倒的ですので利用したいところ。いわゆる初期不良の対応についても、ですね。また時は金なりということで、貨物の余計なダメージを避ける意味でも有効な配達手段だと感じます。今回は諸々込みで85000円以内になりましたので、国内価格より15000円は安く買えた計算になります。海を二度渡るはずですのに、なぜかこちらが安いという。う～ん・・・。

 

それはさておき、2枚構成・・・2Way SLIになったわけですけど、このPascal以降は基本的にSLI＝2枚を指すものとなるそうですので（DirectX 12の仕様上）注意しておきたいポイントとなりそうです。

前回の記事でシングルカードでも32xSが動くようになった、と記したわけですけど。録画ではさすがにまだ重たい部分がありました。それを2枚で無事に動かし切れるか、というのが今回のお題です。

その結果は・・・興味がある人は上記ムービーでたどってみてください。傾向をつかむ意味で1クエスト30分あまりがそのまんま載っていますけど、顕著な処理落ちが発生した部分だけ時間を記載していますので、そちらだけ確認できればいい、という人もおられるでしょうから参考にしてください。

 

実力的には十分達成できるはずなのですが、おそらくドライバーの最適化不足や、PSO2側のイレギュラー・・・いろいろ考える部分はありそうですけど、体感的にですが。ほぼ、問題ない動作ができているものと感じます。何かの手違いが起きたときにガクンと落ちるといった感じで。

この画面を一度見てしまえば設定6だろうが何だろうが、アンチエイリアシングを抜いてのプレイは考えられない、となりそうですが、みなさんはいかがでしょうか。

単なる「美しい」、ではなくて。「突き抜けて 美しい」レベルに達すれば。何物にも代えがたい感動、をもたらすのですよね。それがお金を積まないと実現できない・・・のは残念ですが。このクオリティーをもっと低廉にできるよう、パフォーマンスの向上は常に取り組む内容となるのでしょう。・・・最初でびしっと作れていれば、そうはならないはずなのですが。

そのあおり？なのか、先日ドスパラさんでもなんとまあ。GTX 1080を据えたぱそ子さんを推奨機種として認定してきたみたいですからね。そのあたりも含め、近いうち書いておきますのです。

10億ドルを投資して開発したと謳うだけあり、相当な性能を有するGPU・Pascal。ただ、900番台のMaxwell 2.0カードを手にされた方にとっては「より高速になったカード」的な位置づけとなり、買い換える魅力はどこにあるか・・・となれば、「VR関係」「ビデオ処理機構の進化」「HDMI 2.0bによるHDR出力」あたりになるのでしょう。劇的に違いを体感できる人は、前にも記したとおり「GTX 700番台以前のカード」をお使いの方。4年の差は大きいのです。

特にHDR出力は対応ソフトが出てくればほとんどノーコストで映像のリアリティが格段に上がりますので、ぜひ利用したい機能となります。こちらもZ20Xの紹介で簡単にしておきますね。

 

なお、このムービーでのSLIは「Single Link SLI」と呼ばれる、従来型のものとなります。PascalにはSLIの差し込み口を2つ利用した「Dual Link SLI」モードも用意されており、それを実現するのが「SLI HB Bridge」となります。

一応既存ケーブルを2本使うことでもDual Link SLIにはなるようなのですが、高速信号を通すわけですからリボンケーブルよりはソリッドタイプのコネクターでつなぎたいところ。3DMARK FireStrikeのベンチマークスコアは2～300アップといったあたりで、効果はわずかなり（2%程度？）出ているようです。

先日NVIDIAさんからメールが来てて・・・どうやら発売開始となったようですが。日本へは送れなさそうです。残念・・・＿〆(. .*　お値段は39.99ドルということで、国内販売時には6千円程度になってしまうのではないでしょうか。地味に高いですね、これ・・・。
